Cott Beverage has signed a contract with China's Jianlibao Group, which will give Cott production rights in Jianlibao's production facility.
World Trade magazine reports that beverages is a fast-moving growth area in China, with total production in excess of 40 million tons in 2006, which is an increase of 22 percent over 2005.
China has a fiercely competitive beverage market of its own, and Cott believes that only local production would enable them to join that market.
