MCA Solutions Awarded Navy subcontract for service software

PHILADELPHIA (January 17, 2007) — MCA Solutions (MCA) announced today that it has been awarded a subcontract by CACI International Inc to install its Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) software application, Service Planning and Optimization (SPO™), at the U.S. Navy's inventory control point locations.
As a subcontractor to CACI, MCA will provide functional and technical consulting services to assist with the integration of SPO into the Navy’s RBS Workstation to power the Navy’s RBS requirements. This project is part of the Navy’s initiative to adopt Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software applications, and will support the U.S. Navy with their efforts to reduce costs while maintaining weapon system availability.

“The U.S. military services are under increasing budget pressure, and the implementation of COTS RBS tools is an effective way to improve productivity and reduce supply chain costs,” said Alan Estevez, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.

“Through the success of our work at the Naval Logistics Readiness Research Center (NLRRC), MCA has consistently demonstrated the intellectual capital, technical skills and functionality to assist CACI in satisfying the Navy’s RBS requirements,” said Bob Salvucci, MCA’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to add the U.S. Navy to our growing list of successfully implemented defense customers which includes The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin and Rockwell Collins.”

As the initial phase of the project, MCA will use its software to build a model of the F/A-18 fleet, perform sensitivity analysis on components supplied by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and then collaborate with DLA to help reduce the Department of Defense’s overall support and sustainment costs.
