GE Industrial Systems, a division of General Electric Company, announced it will purchase NovaSensor, Inc., a subsidiary of TRW and a provider of high-tech products to medical, automotive, and industrial process control markets.
“The NovaSensor acquisition is an example of how we are continuing to invest to meet our customers’ demand for innovative and leading edge technologies that make peoples’ lives better,” said Lloyd Trotter, president and CEO of GE Industrial Systems.
Fremont, Calif-based NovaSensor will join the GE Measurement & Sensing Technologies business with GE Industrial Systems. NovaSensor has been a leader in the development of effective technologies in micromachining process design. Still subject to government approval, the transaction is expected to close during the third quarter of 2002.
John Pendergrass, NovaSensor’s president, stated, “Together with GE, NovaSensor’s capabilities in MEMS technology and high-volume manufacturing will produce a broad and diversified product portfolio for our combined customers.”
