The Department of Agriculture (DOA) has allocated an extra $10 million to 65 agricultural trade associations to assist in the promotion of their products overseas.
The Market Access Program has already received $90 million this year and is part of the 2002 Farm Bill passed by Congress. The Farm Bill aims to increase the program budget to $200 million by 2006.
Associations to receive funding include the California Prune Board, for $183,247, the American Sheep Industry, for $100,245, and the National Potato Promotion Board, for $209,263.
