FOXBORO, MASS. and Pleasanton, Calif., USA - March 7, 2007 - Transpara Corporation, www.transpara.com, and Invensys Process Systems today announced a global partnership through which Invensys Process Systems becomes a global reseller and certified implementer for Transpara's Visual KPI operations intelligence software.
The only composite Key Performance Indicator (KPI) engine available on the market, Visual KPI delivers on-demand, business-critical data about process manufacturing and utility operations to any handheld or desktop browser.
"Transpara's innovative Visual KPI technology will provide important incremental value for our large installed based of automation customers," said Chris Lyden, vice president of global marketing at Invensys Process Systems. "This new technology will enable personnel in our customers' process manufacturing and utility plants to remotely monitor - in near-real-time - both process variables and custom-defined KPIs from their familiar handheld mobile computing or communications devices, including both PDAs and smartphones."
Consistent with Invensys' open, platform-independent solution approach, the composite source data for the KPIs can come from a variety of different data sources. These include OSIsoft's PI System or Invensys' own InSQL or InFusion plant historians in conjunction with any Invensys or non-Invensys automation, information, or computerized maintenance management (CMMS) platform.
With Visual KPI, users can easily create and customize composite KPIs and scorecards using data from any combination of existing systems - including OSIsoft's PI System, SQL Server, Oracle, OLE DB and Web Services - and publish them for instant use by anyone in the organization or supply chain, from plant floor managers to executives. Visual KPI offers real-time insight into organizational performance by delivering actionable decision-support information directly to the responsible user. This helps to lower business risk and promote corporate transparency.
