Breaking news, from the Wall Street Journal, that Oracle has filed a lawsuit against german rival and ERP giant SAP, alleging spying and "corporate theft on a grand scale."
Oracle alleges that SAP employees used login information for Oracle customers to illegally access confidential material on a computer system, and said stole "thousands" of proprietary software products.
This caps years of antagonism, chiefly originating with Oracle against its larger rival. SAP's approach is largely one of indifference, though SAP's President of Technology Group Shai Agassi, a the 2006 SAPPHIRE conference, ridiculed Oracle's attempts to take first place. Agassi characterized Oracle as a distant second in the market.
