Austin, Texas – March 21, 2007 – ClearOrbit (www.clearorbit.com ), the leading provider of real-time supply chain execution and reverse logistics solutions, today announced that the company has earned the Supply-Chain Council’s (SCC) prestigious Technology Supply Chain Management Excellence Award for demonstrated leadership and innovation in supply chain execution and collaboration.
SCC’s Technology Supply Chain Management Excellence Award is based on the organization’s SCOR® Model metrics, a diagnostic tool that enables users to address, improve, and communicate supply chain management practices within and between interested parties from the customer’s customer to the supplier’s supplier, with the goal of improving overall supply chain efficiencies.
Selection criteria for this prestigious honor were based on ClearOrbit’s successful venture with World Wide Technology, Inc. ( www.wwt.com ), a leading systems integrator and supply chain solutions/logistics provider, in automating vendor relationships by connecting more than 1,200 suppliers for automated materials replenishment for a major automotive original equipment manufacturer. Performance metrics included supplier adoption of the system and increased efficiencies in the order fulfillment/replenishment processes.
According to Dan Swartwood, chairman, Technical Development Steering Committee of the Supply-Chain Council, “With this project, ClearOrbit succeeded in significantly strengthening the boundary between supply chain Customers and Suppliers. The company applied numerous Best Practices that significantly reduced non-value-added activities, and achieved measurable improvements in efficiency and quality. Their project is an outstanding example of supply chain thinking.”
“We’re honored to receive the Supply-Chain Council’s Excellence Award,” said John Reece, ClearOrbit CEO and president. “This recognition illustrates ClearOrbit’s proven industry leadership and commitment to technology innovation in the form of real-time supply chain execution and reverse logistics solutions that improve the speed, visibility, and control of extended manufacturing and distribution supply chains.”
