The US has excluded another 178 foreign steel products from the imposed tariffs instituted in March to assist domestic steel companies.
The exclusions are expected to ease relations with the European Union, Japan, and other trading partners. After seven rounds of exclusions, the number of products exempted from the 8% to 30% tariffs reached 727. As a result, the latest exemptions may have coerced the EU to drop its threat of retaliation.
