NAM's "Dream It. Do It." wins people's voice award for best ass'n website

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 10, 2007 - The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for Websites, today named Dream It. Do It. (www.DreamitDoit.com) as the Best Association Website of 2007 in the annual People’s Voice voting.

The web site was commissioned by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and its Manufacturing Institute/Center for Workforce Success and developed by Information Experts in Reston, Va., and Cyphon of Portland, Ore.

“We are thrilled that so many people have chosen to honor the creativity and vision of our Dream It. Do It. web site,” said Phyllis Eisen, senior vice president of The Manufacturing Institute/Center for Workforce Success. “This award confirms that our Dream It. Do It. campaign has what it takes to capture the attention of young people and connect them with manufacturing’s exciting career opportunities. We thank our regional partners across the country for their outstanding work to tailor their section of our national web site for local users.”

Hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by The New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. The 11th Annual Webby Awards received a record 8,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide. People’s Voice winners will be honored at the annual Webby Awards ceremony in New York City, June 3-5, 2007.

Dream It. Do It. is the NAM’s innovative multi-regional campaign to reverse the trend of a shrinking skilled talent pool by attracting more young people to manufacturing’s exciting careers and expanding their educational and training opportunities.
