Mike Noell, President and CEO of BlackHawk! Products Group™, announced today the further expansion of BlackHawk’s U.S. production capabilities. BlackHawk® took possession of the 100,000 square foot factory in Boise, Idaho May 1, 2007. The factory is being retooled for production which is expected to begin almost immediately.

Mike Noell also announced the addition of Brian Schroeder as General Manager, Boise Division. Mr. Schroeder spent 14 years at MICHAELS OF OREGON CO.®. He was responsible for the operation of the Boise production and warehousing facility as Vice President of Manufacturing. Following the acquisition of Michaels of Oregon, Bushnell closed the 5-year old facility as a result of moving their production overseas.

“This expansion gives BlackHawk its fourth new U.S. factory in as many years,” stated Noell. “BlackHawk has been investing heavily in U.S. capabilities to shorten the time-to-market on our new innovative products. Our goal is to be able to respond faster to our customer’s very dynamic production needs by reducing production lead times. This facility will assist us in supporting our rapidly expanding Duty Gear, Body Armor, Nylon Holster and Outdoor/Hunting products. The plant will also serve as BlackHawk’s West Coast operation center as we move our East Coast Norfolk Headquarters to the newly constructed 64,000 square foot complex at Commander Corporate Center in Norfolk this July,” explained Noell. “The addition of the Boise factory greatly complements our back-end capabilities and allows for a significant step up in U.S. production capacity to meet the increased demand we are seeing for BlackHawk products,” concluded Noell.
