Eastek International launches program to help manufacturers launch in China

Buffalo Grove, Ill. – June 19, 2007 – Eastek International announced today the launch of Eastek Access, a service that provides companies with a low-risk, quick and cost-effective solution to establishing a China-based manufacturing program.

The Eastek Access program provides a “factory within a factory,” allowing the customer to set up its own operation in less than six months within Eastek’s manufacturing facility in southern China. The customer then manages this operation within the Eastek plant, laying the groundwork to create its own independent manufacturing base in China.

For companies looking for options in offshore manufacturing, Eastek Access provides the customer an opportunity to select from a range of manufacturing and support services, including:

“Eastek Access takes into account the complexities of establishing a manufacturing operation in China – from the time it takes to identify a location to the cost of hiring the expertise, to effectively navigating China’s legal landscape. The process can be very costly, time-consuming, and extremely stressful when trying it on your own,” said Joe Rocco, president of Eastek. “This new service presents a very economical strategy for customers because they can leverage our significant experience, expertise and resources in this market, allowing for an earlier entry-point into China than might have been achieved utilizing other methods.”

Rocco said customers are drawn to Eastek Access because of its versatility. “The customer fully controls factors such as engineering, production scheduling, sourcing/supplier selection, and quality assurance,” he said. “Eastek provides the plant, the labor, and any of the Eastek Access services required for a successful program.”

Customers may also choose to use Eastek’s contract manufacturing services for components or sub-assemblies. Eastek offers vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities including PCBA, turnkey assembly, plastic injection molding, molding tooling fabrication, stamping, stamping tooling fabrication, magnetics/transformers and industry-leading intellectual property protection. These manufacturing capabilities, complemented by design, sourcing, production, and logistics services, are known as The Eastek Edgesm. The Eastek Edge is also available to clients with traditional contract manufacturing needs but no plans to establish independent operations in China.
