TÜVRheinland®, the world leader in independent testing and certification services, has been qualified by the Wi-Fi Alliance as an Authorized Test Laboratory (ATL). With this qualification, TÜVRheinland can conduct tests of wireless products for the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ 802.11n draft 2.0 program.
TÜVRheinland has facilities in Silicon Valley (www.us.tuv.com) and Yokohama, Japan (www.tuv.com/jp/en) that can perform testing for the more than 300 members of the Wi-Fi Alliance, a global, non-profit industry association that promotes the growth of wireless Local Area Networks. TÜVRheinland’s one-stop testing facilities test all types of wireless devices including laptops, wireless routers and switches, PDAs, VoIP telephones, printers, computers, game stations and computer accessories.
“We are proud to be one of the first labs qualified by the Wi-Fi Alliance to perform 802.11n testing,” said David Surber, Vice President of Engineering for TÜVRheinland. “As an Authorized Test Laboratory, we can help our clients worldwide meet the huge market demand that exists for 802.11n certification.”
Compliance with the test plan ensures a product’s interoperability with other Wi-Fi devices in the consumer and enterprise markets. Since March 2000, more than 3,500 products have been designated as Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™.
“We are pleased to have TÜVRheinland among the first labs to become qualified to conduct product testing for the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 802.11n draft 2.0 test program,” said Wi-Fi Alliance Managing Director Frank Hanzlik. “TÜVRheinland’s demonstrated commitment to on-time readiness has helped us achieve this important industry milestone, with enough testing capacity to support all of our member companies worldwide.”
