Jergens Industrial Supply Wins ISA American Eagle Award

July 10, 2007—Jergens Industrial Supply (JIS), a Division of Jergens, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, was named recipient of the 2007 American Eagle Value-Added Distributor Award in recognition of its program as commodity manager of perishable tooling for Cleveland Track, a manufacturer of railway track and components. The award was presented to JIS in Las Vegas at this year’s ISA convention in front of 3,000 fellow manufacturers, distributors, and rep agencies.

JIS was picked from a pool of over 750 applicants who submitted case studies. The Cleveland Track work was performed through JIS’ newly created commodity management department, which oversees the management of perishable tooling at the customer’s site via Internet connections and regular deliveries. The department’s work benefited both Cleveland Track and another JIS customer, Industrial Nut. Using specialized software and hardware, JIS helped both customers realize a combined cost savings in excess of $1,500,000.

Jergens, Inc. becomes the only company in the industry to own two American Eagle awards, one from each side of the industry (one for manufacturing and one for distribution).
