EU and US join forces over Chinese toymakers

The European Union and United States are to work together in encouraging toymakers in China to improve the quality and safety of their products following the mass recall of 2007.
Having entered into talks, EU commissioner Meglena Kuneva and US commissioner Nancy Lord have agreed to join forces “for the benefit of consumers [and] for the benefit of product manufacturers.”
The two officials are due to visit Beijing during this year.
