Boeing has announced further set-backs to the delivery of its 787 Dreamliner, blaming slow assembly and continued problems with suppliers for the delay.
The aircraft is now 15 months behind schedule, and delivery to Japanese All Nippon Airways – Boeing’s first 787 customer – is now likely to take place in the third quarter of 2009 rather than the beginning of the year.
The company said that an “additional schedule margin” had been added onto the revised timetable “to reduce risk of further delays on the programme.”
