General Dynamics wins $3.2B Navy contract

Bath Iron Works, a division of General Dynamics, was awarded a $3.2 billion modification contract this week by the US Navy to build six DDG 51-class destroyers.
The modification contract is part of an exchange program between Bath Iron Works and Ingalls Shipbuilding announced by the Navy to increase program efficiencies in both programs and promote shipyard stability. Based in Bath, Maine, Bath Iron Works is a leader in surface combat design and manufacture.
