The Center for Automotive Research (CAR) released a new study exposing key process problems in the automotive industry.
The study, titled “Automotive Suppliers and the Revenue Acquisition Process: What’s Working, and What’s Not,” found that if auto suppliers gained a 5% increase over their usual 25% success rate of winning new business, they would gain an added $700 million in annual sales. Study findings also showed 24% of new business RFQs from large suppliers are late and miss submission deadlines, an oversight that costs an estimated $3.5 billion in lost opportunity sales per year. The research was conducted by CAR, WWJ Radio, and the Society of Automotive Analysis.
