Boeing’s 1,400 employees from the UAW Local 1069 union in Ridley, Penn. are returning to work temporarily as the two parties try to reach a more permanent contract agreement.
The workers have been on strike since September 14th because of contract disputes. To offset the lag in production, Boeing transferred 3,500 other workers at the plant to the assembly line, according to Madelyn Bush, a Boeing spokeswoman. The terms of the temporary agreement remain undisclosed, but the workers will vote on the revised offer sometime later in the week.
