In an effort to minimize confusion and complexity for automotive manufacturers worldwide, top executives from DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors are petitioning for three Covisint products to become standard: Covisint Auction, Covisint AQP (advanced quality planner), and Covisint Catalog.
With the aid of these products, auto manufacturers will be able to simplify the purchasing of indirect materials, collaboratively develop products, and better manage procurement.
“The intent of the three of us supporting these three Covisint products is to provide a clear and consistent message to the supply base that we are all looking to simplify our business processes,” said Bo Anderson, VP of GM Worldwide Purchasing, Production Control, and Logistics. “Clearly, these Covisint planning and purchasing tools can help all of us to eliminate waste and improve efficiency and should be welcomed by the entire industry as standards.”
