Supplier buys Boeing plant

The Boeing Company has announced the completed sale of its Spokane, Wash. facility to Triumph Group, a Wayne, Penn.-based diversified aircraft-components supplier.

Terms of the sale have not been disclosed, but the agreement requires Triumph to supply parts manufactured at the Spokane facility to Boeing for eight years. The 400 Boeing employees impacted will join the Triumph workforce and remain at the plant.

It really comes down to part of our continuing effort to make our infrastructure more efficient and lower our overall operating costs, said Todd Belcher, a Boeing spokesman. Part of that is reducing underutilized infrastructure, and this happens to be a facility we can do that with, he said.
