Delphi plant ranked in environmental magazine’s top five

Delphi Corporation’s Deltronics facility in Matamoros, Mexico has recently been distinguished as one of Environmental Protection magazine’s Facilities of the Year.

The Deltronics facility has taken steps to minimize waste and protect the environment in several manufacturing processes, such as installing a paint sludge dewatering system which has resulted in the recycling of 144,762 gallons of water over eight months.

“Our facility has continued to act on its commitment to protecting our employees, the community, and the environment,” said Rick Erwin, managing director of the Deltronics plant. “We have aggressively pursued waste reduction activities in energy, utility, and materials management and have been committed to community service and education in environmental awareness.”

Annually presented to the top five industrial plants, wastewater treatment facilities, and other types of facilities, the award is given on the basis of outstanding environmental achievements by government, trade associations, and other professional groups.
