General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has been awarded a contract ultimately worth $45 million by the Naval Sea Systems Command for the low-rate initial production of the Area Air Defense Commander (AADC), an integrated air defense planning and execution system.
The AADC Capability system facilitates effective battle planning and reduces planning time from days to hours. The system incorporates commercial off-the-shelf computer technology to allow taskforce commanders to plan and coordinate air defenses quickly. It combines information from data links into a straightforward graphic representation.
