Raytheon has been chosen to develop the Combat Control Systems CCS Mk2 Weapon Control System by the Naval Sea Systems Command in a contract worth currently $20 million with potential to reach as much as $205 million over a four-year period.

The company has gathered together a team of industry professionals it calls Team SubNET to undertake the operations, including Orincon Defense, Trident Systems, Progeny Systems, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, among others. Production will primarily take place at Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems facility in Portsmouth, RI.

“This award solidifies CCS Mk2’s position as the US Navy’s combat system of choice for submarines,” said Dan Smith, VP for Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems business. “We look forward to partnering with the Navy and our many industry teammates to field state-of-the-art submarine capability solutions for our war fighters.”

Raytheon is presently providing the baseline combat control system for Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarines and for Collins Class submarines in Australia.
