Jones Apparel Group, a leading clothing manufacturer, has announced it will take a fourth-quarter charge of $25.5 million to close its Sun Apparel manufacturing plants in Torreon, Mexico and its warehousing and administrative facilities in El Paso, Texas.
In addition, it plans to convert 20 of its 47 Enzo Angiolini stores to its lower-priced Bandolino store chain.
"Our continued focus is to improve on our efficient operating model in order to better support future expansion through both internal growth and acquisitions,” said Peter Boneparth, president and CEO. “By improving productivity in two business units, the actions we are announcing today will help us to accomplish this goal."
