Rolls Royce has entered into a $34 million contract with NAVAIR to provide logistics support for the Rolls Royce AE 2100D3 engines located on the United States Marine Corps KC-130J tanker aircraft.
Rolls Royce has teamed up with Dowty Propellers of Smiths Aerospace to provide hourly engine and propeller support over the next five years.
“This is another significant milestone in the growth of our military aftermarket service capability,” said Steven Dwyer, president of Rolls Royce North America. “Agreements such as this in the civil market have led to lower engine operating costs for airlines and private operators. Rolls Royce is committed to helping the US military reduce costs. By using a Fleet Hour Agreement approach, the USMC will be paying for propulsion system availability via the flight hours they use.”
