The first Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV rolled off the production line last week at the company’s plant in Normal, Illinois, the country’s most flexible auto plant.
The Endeavor is the sixth model constructed on a single assembly line at the facility, and it is also the first model introduced under the Project America banner, Mitsubishi’s $1.5 billion investment project to develop automobiles in North America targeted specifically for North American consumers.
“Endeavor is a testament to the hard work of our employees, the flexibility of our manufacturing process, and the commitment of our company to build vehicles in North America for North American consumers,” said Rich Gilligan, Mitsubishi Motors North America manufacturing division president and CEO.
