The Raytheon Company was awarded a $38.9 million Foreign Military Services contract by the US Air Force for the production of Maverick missile, a precise, air-to-ground missile used against small, hard targets.
The Foreign Military Services contract includes AGM-65 infrared (IR) missiles, trainers, and associated spares for Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Bahrain. Work will be completed by 2004 and will be carried out by Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona.
“This is another major award for the Raytheon-US Air Force Maverick team as we continue to provide our international partners with the proven air-to-ground precision engagement capability of the IR Maverick missile,” said Ron Shields, director of the Raytheon Maverick program.
