Toyota to build Tundra assembly plant

Toyota has announced plans to build an $800 million assembly plant in San Antonia, Texas for the manufacture of its Tundra pickup truck.
Beginning in 2006, the facility is expected to employ 2,000 people, turning out approximately 150,000 trucks annually. Capabilities at the facility will include stamping, body weld, plastics, paint, and assembly. Toyota will have the capability to manufacture 1.65 million cars and trucks and 1.16 million engines in North America by 2006.
