Waltham, Mass. December 4, 2006 - ModusLink Corporation, a subsidiary of CMGI, Inc. and leading provider of global supply chain management solutions, today announced that Newton Peripherals LLC, the company behind the ground-breaking MoGo Mouse™, has selected ModusLink as its global supply chain services provider.
ModusLink will deliver an array of supply chain management services, including both forward and reverse logistics, to support growing worldwide demand for the company’s new MoGo MouseBT, a popular business-card sized, Bluetooth-enabled mouse that is creating buzz among consumers.
The consumer electronics market has its own distinctive set of supply chain challenges given its unique customer demands, retail fulfillment requirements and global market complexities. ModusLink will be working closely with Newton Peripherals to manage these challenges and provide greater efficiency, speed-to-market, and customer satisfaction in both the United States and European markets.
“Given our rapid growth worldwide, it was important for us to choose a partner with global reach and strong capabilities in the consumer market,” said Matthew Westover, Newton Peripherals’ CEO and President. “Our innovative technology has sparked considerable interest in the U.S. and abroad and ModusLink has the global footprint and scalable operating infrastructure needed to accommodate this growing demand. ModusLink’s efficient supply chain processes and solutions can grow with us, while ensuring that we maintain the high level of service our customers have come to expect. By partnering with ModusLink, we can respond more quickly to global market dynamics and sustain our competitive edge in the market.”
As part of the contract, ModusLink will provide the following services: Call Center Support, including after sales service and technical support; Returns Management Authorization issuance; Reverse Logistics; Testing and Repair. Additionally, given the complexities of supply chain management in the European market, ModusLink will also provide additional services in this market, including Sourcing; Kitting and Assembly; Retail Distribution, VAT Management; and Customer Support in more than five different languages.
