Trade Deficit: record $4.7 billion rally in September

9 Nov, Washington DC -- Seems we narrowed the trade deficit in September, thanks largely to manufacturers. The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, through the Department of Commerce, announced today that total September exports of $123.2 billion and imports of $187.5 billion resulted in a goods and services deficit of $64.3 billion, $4.7 billion less than the $69.0 billion in August, revised.

US import and export prices

The U.S. Import Price Index declined 2.0 percent for the second consecutive month in October, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. The decrease was again led by declining petroleum prices, which fell 8.3 percent in October following a decrease of 9.7 percent in September. Export prices fell 0.4 percent in October, after declining by the same amount the previous month.

White Energy acquires 100 million gallon Greenfield Ethanol Project in Texas Panhandle from Scoular Company

DALLAS – (November 2, 2006) – Dallas-based White Energy Holding Company, LLC, an emerging leader in U.S. ethanol production, announced today that it has acquired a 100-million-gallon-per-year (“MGPY”) greenfield ethanol project from The Scoular Company (“Scoular”), a nationwide agricultural services company, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
