JARA, the structured leadership consultancy, will celebrate Apollo's half-century milestone at this year’s Defence and Security Equipment Industry show (DSEi), in London this September.

The company will be celebrating the unsung heroes of the moon-shot: the people who invented and built the machines that carried a dozen men to the surface of moon and brought them home safely.

At the show, JARA will operate their own version of mission control and use a ‘space map’ to plot milestones at the show. The stand will also feature a model of the Saturn 5 rocket as a tribute to the army of Apollo workers that made this man’s greatest adventure.

For JARA, the Apollo mission is a great illustration of the power of strategic vision and alignment of people to a common purpose. It is also an exciting way to communicate the principles of the company’s Structured Leadership methodology.

As JARA’s founder, Jamil Rashid says, “Apollo was truly inspirational and an outstanding example of engineering excellence, but it also symbolizes how people, when they know how their role fits to the whole, and are truly engaged, can deliver big results. Our objective is to demonstrate through focus and discipline, organisations, large and small, can deliver their own strategic objectives on time.”
“Before this decade is out”

It was President Kennedy’s landmark 1961 speech to Congress which launched project Apollo. In it he outlined the enormous challenge of landing a man on the moon in less than nine years: “This decision demands a major national commitment of scientific and technical manpower, materiel and facilities, and the possibility of their diversion from other important activities where they are already thinly spread. It means a degree of dedication, organization and discipline.”

DSEi 13-16 Sept 2011, Excel, London. JARA stand N3-393. The stand will also feature a model Saturn 5 rocket and ‘space’ map.
