Dick Olver, Chairman, BAE Systems has been confirmed as a speaker for EEF’s National Manufacturing Conference on March 6.
Mr Olver joins a prestigious line-up of speakers including Business Secretary Vince Cable, Labour leader Ed Miliband, Alex Baldock, Managing Director of Lombard and EEF’s own CEO, Terry Scuoler.
Full details of Mr Olver’s presentation at EEF’s National Manufacturing Conference will be announced shortly but it is anticipated that he will outline his view of the challenges facing UK manufacturing and the attractiveness of the UK as a place to do business.
Olver has been chairman of BAE Systems since July 2004 after a successful career in the oil and gas industry. Olver was deputy group chief executive of BP from January 2003 and deputy chairman TNK-BP from July 2004 to October 2006. He joined BP in 1973.
Aside from his duties at BAE, Olver is now a UK Business Ambassador and a non executive director of Reuters and Thompson Reuters.
