The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has once again thrown its support behind the annual Fresh Connection competition for skills development in supply chain management.
Fresh Connection is organised by supply chain consultancy Scala, and challenges teams of professionals from UK companies to compete in a number of tasks which test collaborative, financial, design and sustainability skills among many others.
CILT supported Fresh Connection in 2011 and looking forward to the 2012 competition. Steve Agg, chief executive at CILT said: “The Institute is delighted to partner with Scala on this exciting innovation. The Fresh Connection is an innovative programme for developing current and future managers at all levels in the industry and offers a unique platform to enable participants to extend their supply chain knowledge.”
Last year a team from food manufacturer Mars were victorious at the Fresh Connection grand final – taking the crown from Cadburys who dominated in 2010’s competition. Other sponsors and partners of the event include software vendor AEB and logistics solutions provider La Palette Rouge. The Manufacturer magazine is acting as a media partner.
The Fresh Connection competition takes place over 12 weeks during which participants compete through an online portal. A two day grand final bring competitors together in the flesh. This year the Grand Final will take place on June 13 in order to coincide with the CILT annual conference week at the Marriott Hotel, Forest of Arden.
