TMMX Awards: inspire, reward & drive growth

Posted on 8 Jun 2016 by The Manufacturer

Entering industry awards helps to drive sales, improve staff morale and create considerable PR at significantly less cost than other marketing channels.

Ahead of The Manufacturer’s deadline for TMMX Awards on June 30, here are our top tips to help make the most of entering:

Choose the categories strongest for your company

Have you taken on a recent sustainability project? Do you have an inspirational leader or highly effective staff communication? Choose your category based on the areas of the business you are proudest of.

It’s well worth entering several categories – it’s free and can multiply your chances of winning!

Engage with your team

Entering and winning are great for team building so involve as many people as possible.

Almost all achievements are because of teamwork; so any finalist or winner status is a direct result of teamwork.

Prove what you’re saying

Very often judges will comment that a company has doubled its sales in two years for example, but failed to back this up with figures or how they achieved this. Make sure you add supporting evidence and figures.

Take your time

Winning award entries take time and effort to perfect. You can save and return to your entry as many times as you wish, so review over time to make sure you’re happy with it.

We love to help companies identify the categories where they stand the best chance of winning. If in doubt, then just ask.

Make use of the PR opportunities

Trade journals, local press, regional TV and radio are interested in promoting both finalists and winners. Shout about your successes and use the Finalist and Winner logos on company marketing materials.

The Manufacturer Opus

All finalists of TMMX Awards can include their business profile within the highly prestigious annual The Manufacturer Opus, a showcase publication circulated to MPs and UK industry ambassadors to highlight the best of UK manufacturing.

Your free Assessment and Business Improvement Report

Entering TMMX Awards is not just about the winning. Each finalist receives a personalised report written by Durham University based on the judges’ feedback. This is a confidential insight into your business from the experts that judged your entry.

Don’t give up

If you don’t win this time, then don’t give up trying. Learn from the process and try again.

Entries are free and open to all UK manufacturers, of any size, from any sector.
