The Manufacturer – helping to create future engineering leaders

The Manufacturer is delighted to be a partner of The Arkwright Scholarships Trust, who work to inspire future leaders in engineering and related areas of design. The Manufacturer is committed to encourage students to pursue engineering at university or through a high-quality apprenticeships. During 2014 we are supporting the trust by donating a proportion of profits on all Factory Tour events run.

The Arkwright Scholarships Trust is a charity that identifies, inspires and nurtures future leaders in engineering. We award Engineering Scholarships through rigorous selection to high-calibre students to support them through their ‘A’ levels or Scottish Highers. Arkwright Scholars are encouraged to go on to study engineering or a related area of design at university, or to take up a high-quality higher apprenticeship; and to pursue a technical career.

Arkwright Scholarships consist of an annual financial award to each Scholar and to his/her school, and a range of activities that increase a Scholar’s understanding of engineering, manufacturing and the world of work.

Since the programme began in 1991 we have awarded over 2900 Scholarships, growing year-on-year. We currently award in the region of 330 Scholarships a year across the UK.

Every Scholarship is supported by a sponsoring organisation, which develops close links to its Scholars. We rely on the support of people and organisations with an interest in the future of engineering and we are extremely grateful for the support from SayOne Media. Please visit our website (www.arkwright.org.uk) or contact Maggie Deere ([email protected]) for an informal chat about how your company could support future leaders in engineering.
