Craft Apprentice Electrical/Avionic, Marshall Aerospace
David Firth is a third year craft apprentice at Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group in Cambridge. He joined the Company after gaining a conditional offer from the University of Sheffield to study Aerospace Engineering but deciding that the apprenticeship route would suit him more. He is undertaking a nationally recognised Advanced Apprenticeship and is well on his way to becoming a skilled aircraft electrician. He hopes to study for his aircraft licences in the future and no doubt has a very successful career ahead of him. In the meantime, he has won the accolade of being the top first year apprentice in the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards for the South East Region. He has also recently won a silver medal at the World Skills UK competition held at the Birmingham Skills Show.
