Innovation manager, Lambert Engineering - Mike Lewis:

Mike Lewis

Innovation Manager, Lambert Engineering

Having graduating from Loughborough University I have worked exclusively in the field of special purpose automation and robotics. I begin my career designing and developing bespoke food processing machinery, before joining Lambert in 2011 as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Having successfully developed automation for detergent reclamation I led the product design for a first of a kind prosthesis medical device manufacturing platform. This platform successfully embedded multiple new innovative converting processes and technologies as well as best practice in operator line management to deliver both high OEE and high product mix. The success of this platform has led to repeat orders installed across multiple continents and Lambert recently receiving in November its largest single order in its history.

My work developing new processes and platforms put me in good stead to be appointment as Innovations Manger in 2013 where I set up the new department, facilities and processes which officially opened in Oct 2014.

The Innovations team are working closely with the world leading companies in Medical and FMCG on both their legacy product and in particular their New Product Introduction. Assisting throughout the life cycle from early TRL levels through to full production. As well as developing new platforms and approaches to ensure we deliver maximum value every time.

Lambert was recently recognised by being awarded the 2015 TMMX award for Innovations and Design as well 3 other awards including Manufacturer of the Year.
