This is an interview with Richard Noble OBE, the land speed world record holder between 1983-1997. Richard, as project director of Thrust SCC, set the record again in October 1997 with Andy Green as the driver – a record that still stands today.
Now, Richard and the Thrust WSH team are in the early stages of attempting something even harder, the water speed record.
However, the project has a long way to go – speaking to us just before Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week 2024, Richard says that the first, vital step of the project is an education programme linked to the science and technology which will be used for the boat.
He is urging all in the industry to fill in a survey that was launched in the build up to Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week 2024.
