• Tracks each individual tire throughout the complete production process
• Enhances workplace safety by eliminating manual handling of tires
• Provides system-wide visibility and control of the production flow
• Enables process optimization for continued improvements to efficiency

Crisplant – part of BEUMER Group and a leading global supplier of automated material handling systems – announces the launch of its first automated material handling system to be specifically customized for the tire production industry. The Crisplant Tire Tray Transportation and Sortation System will be launched at the Tire Technology Expo 2013, Cologne, Germany, on stand number 1166 in Expo Hall 1, from 5 to 7 February 2013.

Ensuring gentle transport of uncured and cured tires, the Crisplant Tire Tray Transportation and Sortation System automates manual handling and provides traceability and tracking of individual tires through every stage of the production process. The automated system includes features such as fully automated loading and unloading, end-to-end tracking of tires using RFID technology, and the ability to handle a wide variety of tire sizes within the same system. Detailed management statistics, in addition to system-wide visibility and control, also enable the system to be continually optimized to enhance process efficiency.

“By eliminating manual handling of tires throughout production, tire manufacturers can enhance workplace safety and continually monitor and optimize process efficiency,” explains Klaus Schäfer, Managing Director at Crisplant. “In creating this new system Crisplant has used the same skills and expertise with which it has helped major distribution hubs worldwide, to transform their business to achieve lower operating costs and higher process efficiency.

Crisplant has been designing, building and installing material handling systems for 45 years. Their list of successful projects includes sortation systems for Goodyear and Bridgestone in USA, Canada and Japan. Crisplant is currently installing a new sorting system at the Bridgestone facility in South Carolina, USA, with no disruption to the normal operation of the facility.

Crisplant will be featuring a demonstration and animations of the new Tire Tray Transportation and Sortation System on stand number 1166 in Expo Hall 1, at the Tire Technology Expo 2013, Cologne, Germany, from 5 to 7 February 2013.
