AN INNOVATION QUEEN’S AWARD FOR GRIPPLE
SHOULD NOT PUZZLE ANYONE!
Its enduring commitment to innovation has won world leading Gripple a second Queen’s Award for Innovation – bringing the company’s Queen’s Awards haul to four! This time, the awards’ spotlight fell on the company’s success in challenging the traditional suspension of industrial services by utilising its iconic Gripple wire joiner and tensioner.
True to Gripple’s driving innovation culture, the company’s staff heard about its latest accolade by completing a specially compiled crossword puzzle which will also tested their Gripple knowledge!
In the employee-owned company’s dedicated Ideas and Innovation department a team of free-thinking engineers, with a ‘can do’ attitude, continually develop pioneering solutions to customers’ problems in suspending mechanical, electrical and seismic services, delivering significant cost, environmental and health and safety benefits.
Mark Edmonds, Gripple’s managing director, said: “This is undoubtedly a momentous year not only for the country but also for Gripple! Because the company will always invest in innovation it will continue to expand globally. We are particularly proud that Gripple has been recognised in a way which means so much to the company and its hard-working staff.”
Gripple is one of select group of businesses to secure a Queen’s Award in each of the scheme’s categories – innovation, international trade and sustainable development. The Gripple has also been selected recently as one of the country’s leading innovations to be included in the Make it in Great Britain exhibition at the Science Museum during the summer, to showcase the best in British manufacturing.
