GRIPPLE MD LOOKS TO THE STATES WITH HIS FAMILY IN MIND
After almost 13 years with leading manufacturer Gripple, Mark Edmonds, who has been managing director since 2007, has decided to move his family to the United States where he intends to set up his own company representing UK manufacturers entering the North American market.
Until a new MD has been appointed, with the same passion for Gripple and Sheffield and the enterprising vision which Mark has displayed, the company’s executive chairman, Hugh Facey will take on the role.
Mark first worked for Gripple Inc. in Chicago when he met his American wife, Laura. They have now decided that the USA offers the best future for them and their two young children and plan to relocate to Laura’s home state of Wisconsin later in the Spring.
During his tenure as MD in Sheffield, Mark has managed the development of numerous new innovative products which have transformed the mechanical and electrical industry and also the agricultural and viticultural markets. In addition, Mark has seen Gripple’s turnover grow from £25m to almost £40m and the company receiving three of its four Queen’s Awards, as well as being recognised as the UK’s best SME in 2009.
On Mark’s departure Hugh commented: “Mark made a tremendous contribution in growing Gripple Inc and has overseen significant growth in the Gripple business in the time he has been MD here at the company headquarters. I wish him and his family good luck and Bon Voyage!”.
