-Leading provider of winter gritting and maintenance works with UK-based, Crompton Mouldings-
Weather forecasters are predicting a cold snap in the coming weeks. There is no escaping the fact that winter is almost upon us, but only time will tell if we are sufficiently prepared for what winter 2012 may bring.
GRITIT (www.gritit.com), the UK’s leading provider of winter gritting and maintenance services, has spent all summer planning and preparing to protect its customers against the physical and financial risks that adverse weather can pose. And, the company has worked closely with UK-based manufacturer, Crompton Mouldings, to build bespoke grit bins – all of which have been strategically placed across the UK to support GRITIT in its expanding operation.
Commenting on the investment, Nikki Singh-Barmi, managing director at GRITIT, said: “As a business, we have continued to grow year-on-year, and we realised the time had come to design and create our own robust and durable grit bins – ones which will withstand the harsh weather, and heavy usage during the winter months.
“We opted to work with Crompton Mouldings, based in Brighouse, because the manufacturer offered a service second-to-none. Equally, as a business, we always try to invest in UK companies and services, where possible. Crompton listened to our requirements, and came up with a product that would really suit our bespoke needs. We also requested for the grit bins to be 100 per cent recyclable – as soon as one comes to the end of its life, it can be ground down and put back in the machine to make something else.”
“Jonathan Wilson, sales director at Crompton Mouldings Ltd, added: “We are extremely proud to have been chosen by GRITIT who approached us with very specific requirements in terms of the design, colour, quality and branding that would match its reputation for service and reliability in the industry.
“We are manufacturing grit bins daily, and are due to complete the order by early December in preparation for the winter ahead.
“We are very pleased to be working with a business that is protecting people against the effects of harsh winter weather, which has caught out so many of us, ourselves included in the last few years.”
