How sports car maker, BAC, uses PLM to manage product complexity

When you think super fast sportscars, Pagani is certainly a brand with which many people would be familiar.

The Zonda helped re-write the record book when it was unveiled in 1999. And Pagani followed it up with the Huayra in 2011, which still holds the record for fastest road legal car around the Top Gear race track with a blistering time of 01:13.8.

But what many people don’t know is that, just half a second off the pace (01:14.3) and in second place, is the British made, single seat, BAC Mono.

The BAC Mono’s performance on the track certainly speaks for itself. But how did a niche sportscar maker from Speke, Liverpool, achieve such an incredible feat, and manage the complexities of producing a performance car that can outperform Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and the rest.

Well to answer that question, The Manufacturer has teamed up with Autodesk and produced an informative webinar looking at how Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) achieved such an impressive final product and how the company uses Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to help manage product complexity.

The original webinar took place on 9 December 2015, but don’t worry, you can now watch the recording.
