Coventry-based aerospace supplier Arrowsmith has snapped up two six-figure contracts with two global manufacturers.
The news comes following the firm’s £450,000 investment in developing its production capabilities.
The contract wins with Meggit and ITP were supported by an extension to the current facility, as well as finance from Coventry City Council through the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub.
The expansion included increasing the working area by 8,000 sqft, which breaks down into a new 5,000 sqft factory and 3,000 sqft of office space to house a team of CAD designers, quality engineers and interns.
Jason Aldridge, managing director at Arrowsmith Engineering and The Manufacturer Top 100 2014 shortisted individual, commented: “We’ve had to expand the size of the business to cater for demand from other big manufacturers that we supply parts to.
“As well as general aircraft maintenance, the demand is being driven by the need to build more aircraft – whether it’s for civic or military use.
“The new facilities have allowed us to lure talent from other big companies into our CAD design and quality engineering departments to develop products for clients, which in turn has attracted six interns into the business from Coventry University to learn their trade,” he added.
