5 home products launched at CES 2019

With CES 2019 coming to a close, we thought we’d take a look at 5 home innovations that were launched at the showcase.

Azpen DockAll D100

This new device by Azpen allows for wireless charging through a Qi charging docking station. It also features a Bluetooth 4.0 speaker, two USB ports, a MicroSD slot, and a built-in microphone. Multiple devices can be charged simultaneously with the DockAll D100, using either wireless or wired connections. The device allows docking of devices up to 13 inches, and even works with tough smartphone cases such as the OtterBox Defender.

Square Off

Calling itself “the world’s smartest chessboard”, Square Off allows users to play each other using physical pieces while in different locations. Players can verse friends and family, or play against more than 24 million online chess players. It’s also possible to verse the board itself, with AI that has 20 complexity levels. Square Off is handcrafted from wood, and connects to an app that allows you to fix a game date and save your game.

Elmer Shower

After 21 months of research and 15 prototypes, Elmer have launched their new “French-style shower” that aims to engage all five senses. The shower includes an essential oil diffuser, a high-fidelity sound system, and allows for smartphone connectivity. There are four different types of Elmer: Originale, Well-being, Connected and Accessible, and each are available in twelve different colours and finishes. Elmer showers can be installed do-it-yourself, or by one of the company’s approved plumbers for a fee. According to their website, the installation process is easy and can be completed in under three hours.

Pebby

This one’s for the animal lovers! Pebby is a smart ball that allows away-from-home pet owners to interact with their pets. The ball uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology to enable owners to interact with, and watch their pets when not in the same place as them. It allows for a voice message to be played through the ball, so pets can hear their owner’s voice. The Auto-Play feature can also be enabled for when pets are keen to play but owners are busy.

DreamWave M.8 Massage Chair

The M.8 is a new massage chair by DreamWave, designed by Ken Okuyama. Some of the features of the chair include an air ioniser in the head rest that clears dust, spores, dander and other pollutants from the surrounding air, heat zones located in the foot, palm, back and seat areas, and TheraElliptical calf kneading. The chair also features surrounding arm massage, and the ability to select from countless options for a tailored experience.
