A1 Flue Systems has been granted planning permission for a new purpose-built warehouse and trade counter in North Nottinghamshire for its new Anglo-Italian venture, A1 Expo.
The directors of the company are keen to see work start as quickly as possible on the new 15,000 sqft building in New Ollerton – with construction expected to take as little as eight weeks.
A1 Expo is a venture between A1 Flue Systems and European stainless steel giant, Expo Inox, in a move hoped to create the leading manufacturer and supplier of small-diameter flue components and flue liner for the UK domestic market by supplying independent stove shops, builders’ merchants and heating engineers.
The new warehouse and trade counter will be the platform from which the company can start delivering on its ambitious growth targets of achieving £7m turnover within three years.
A1 Expo is focused on products for the domestic market, with flue diameters sizes ranging from 125mm up to 200mm.
It will stock products including CE-Marked twin-wall insulated flue systems; single-wall flue systems; cowls; chimney fans; core vents; stove fans, and carbon monoxide alarms.
Director, John Hamnett commented: “In order to get A1 Expo up and running in the middle of last year, we launched it from our premises, but it was very clear very early that A1 Expo would need its own premises – mainly because it’s a different business model to A1 Flue Systems.
“Our core business is manufacturing bespoke commercial flue systems, so we make systems to order and ship them as soon as they are made – whereas A1 Expo serves the domestic market, so we have to hold a significant amount of products in stock.
Hamnett added: “Everyone at A1 Expo is chomping at the bit to get the new warehouse and trade counter because we’ll finally be able to unleash the potential of the company and make good on our vision of becoming the UK’s leading supplier of small-diameter flue components and flue liner.”
