The UK’s Aerospace, Defence and Security trade organisation (A|D|S) today signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian Industry and Defence Network Inc (AIDN) at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The objective of the MoU is to boost trade and supply chain efficiency in the Defence and Industry sectors. Ian Godden, chairman of A|D|S, said: “A|D|S is delighted to deepen an already excellent relationship with our counterparts in Australia. This has already been demonstrated by sharing the UK’s expertise in aerospace and defence supply chain management through the recent introduction of Supply Chains for the 21st Century (SC21) into the Australian defence industry.
This deal reflects a broader trend towards the increasing globalisation of the defence industry. Sally Capp, Agent-General (Europe) for the Government of Victoria, Australia said: “The State Government of Victoria is buoyed by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between A|D|S and the Australian Industry & Defence Network and foresees this as the start of a mutually beneficial partnership.””
