Construction contractor and manufacturer Alumet was successful at the recent International Green Apple Environmental Awards, held at the University of Westminster on June 20.
Trevor Baylis OBE (the inventor of the wind-up radio) presented the facade and renewables specialists with the Silver Green Apple Award. The award recognises the success of Alumet’s recent Sustainability Drive, a campaign which saw the company invest over £750,000 in improving it’s operations in order to minimise it’s impact on the environment.
Alumet’s marketing director Dean Walton commented: “We’re delighted to receive this award. We received the Bronze Award last year and this Silver Award helps to demonstrate how we are achieving continual improvement year on year.”
Alumet are hosting an open day to showcase their recent achievements, which is to be held at their Warwickshire headquarters on July 15th between 10am and 2pm. The day will be themed around community spirit, with over 20 businesses from the local area showcasing their products in a farmers style market. Trevor Baylis OBE will be giving a guest presentation on the day along with Olympian David Moorcroft OBE. Everyone is welcome to attend including members of the public.
