Staffordshire-based Cannock Aluminium Ingot manufacturer, Norton Aluminium is looking to the future with the appointment of new managing director, Andrew Fogarty.
With a turnover of £15m, Norton Aluminium is forecasting significant growth over the next four years, both in the UK and Europe. It currently has plans to reach the automotive, aerospace, F1 and motorsport sectors.
Fogarty commented: “My experience gives me a broad knowledge to apply to the Norton Aluminium business of which the past six years have been in the Aluminium and Zinc Die-casting area. I am very excited to apply my experience to this new sector and take on a new challenge.”
Fogarty is confident that the strong management team will be a great asset in pushing the business forward; for example one of the big constraints to the business is the Environmental Permit it has to operate within.
He said: “When the company was audited in 2012 we were considered a high risk to the environment, but with the continued hard work of the staff and strong management team the company has successfully maintained a much improved ‘Medium’ rating in our recent audits which we take very seriously.
“We are committed to working with both residents and the local council to resolve issues and set plans in place for continued improvement.”
Norton Aluminium are this month meeting with Cannock Chase District Council and have agreed to participate in two annual meetings in which local residents are invited to put their questions and concerns to Norton as well as to hear the firm’s plans for further environmental improvements in the months to come.
