Polythene manufacturer Duo UK has agreed a deal with online sports retailer Sportpursuit which will see it introduce branded packaging to distribute customer orders for the first time.
The Manchester-based firm, a supplier to brands including ASOS, will facilitate SportPursuit’s transition from plain to branded packaging.
Duo UK’s managing director Dale Brimelow said the deal represents a great opportunity for the company, which celebrated its 25th anniversary by investing £1.1m into its factory last month.
“We’re delighted to be working with SportPursuit and helping them to deliver the best customer online shopping experience, that we are confident will lead them to repeat orders, word of mouth recommendations and increased brand awareness.
“We are committed to delivering exceptional customer service for all our clients and the SportPursuit brief was a fantastic opportunity for our team to showcase our expertise and the value we add to our customer’s business.”
Bryn Snelson, head of marketing at SportPursuit, the UK’s first members-only private sales website offering deals on sports kit to 750,000 registered users, said Duo UK’s reputation for excellence was a factor in agreeing to the deal.
“We were impressed by the calibre of work Duo has done for other high profile retail clients and by working with them our packaging is now in line with our brand positioning,” he said.
“Duo UK’s expertise and clear understanding of our fulfilment needs has lead us to what we believe is the perfect packaging to enhance our customers shopping experience.” he added.
Shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna is also set to visit the Duo UK site next Wednesday as part of a fact finding mission into British manufacturing.
